We proudly present - Our trainees

After our trainees have already presented their project, we now would like to introduce our trainees to you.

In short interviews our trainees talk about their first days and first experiences.

Interview with Emir-Can Ercin

Emir is 23 years old and is trained as merchant for wholesale and foreign trade management. He currently is in his second year of training.

How were the first days in the company?

The first days were very exciting for me. But I settled down very quickly. The colleagues all are very kind and make it very easy for me. You immediately get the feeling to belong to the team.

What does your trainee working day look like?

My working day starts at 7:30 am. First when I arrive I wish a good morning to all colleagues that are already in. Then I go to my working place and start the PC. Meantime, I quickly grab a coffee, which, by the way, is free of charge for all employees. I get a rough overview what’s pending and coming up for the day and getting started. If I have any questions my colleagues are always ready to help and explain things. At 12:15 pm is lunch time where most of the colleagues meet in the recreation area. At 4:30 pm my work is done.

What do you do at lunch time?

At lunch time I usually go to the kitchen to meet the others. I often prepare my protein shakes. There are always interesting conversations with my colleagues. Sometimes I pull back to the chill zone and surf the internet or social web. When the weather is nice, we often sit outside.;

What do you like in particular about your apprenticeship and the company?

I like very much that you feel well here right away and that you can bring in your own ideas. Here you are not treated like a normal trainee, you are a part of the team right from the beginning. In addition, you don’t work monotonous at the PC but also get inpidual tasks such as preparing meetings or a trainee project.

It’s also cool that we have different events during the year. In summertime the fridge is always filled with ice-cream and sometimes we have a barbecue where all employees come together eating and talking.

How was the change from school to work?

It’s completely different. During the training you become more independent and you are given more responsibility. I noticed that I made a step into adulthood. In addition, you have more contact with unknown persons what you do not have in school in this way.

Why did you choose this apprenticeship?

I’ve always been interested in finance and administration skills. After my commercial high school diploma I decided to study computer science. However, after a very short time, I realized that my interests really are in the commercial field. The decision was right because I am very happy with my training here. I enjoy my work and really can see me doing this for the future!

Interview with Mustafa Miradil

Mustafa is 20 years old and is trained as merchant for wholesale and foreign trade management. He currently is in his first year of training.

How were the first days in the company?

I was very excited, everything was new to me. Before, I have only done some voluntary work and was not very familiar with “real” work. But I was so happy when I realized that everyone here is extremely patient and helpful. Thus, I quickly felt that I am right here.

What does your trainee working day look like?

My day starts at 6:30 am. Since I’m not really into breakfast, I get ready straight away and go to work. I start at 7:30 am. When I arrive I do a quick welcome tour and take a coffee from the kitchen. Then I check my emails and get a rough overview for what needs to be done. The work is very varied. Every day I learn something new, be it in the office, in the warehouse or in production. We do change the departments periodically.

Two days a week we go to vocational school. I’m doing pretty well with school. Usually I take 1 – 2 hours at the weekend to study so that I have more time during the week for my hobbies and to play soccer with my younger brothers.

What do you do at lunch time?

At lunch time I go to our recreation room. Usually I take something to eat with me. Sometimes we order something together with the colleagues from the snack bar down the street or from a delivery service. There is always nice conversation with the colleagues.

It’s very familiar.

What do you like in particular about your apprenticeship and the company?

Here you are not treated as “jack of all trades”. I do learn a lot from my colleagues. That’s how I thought the training would be. I’m very satisfied with the apprenticeship as I really wanted to go this way in commercial business. Also it’s great that we have trainee projects. What I also like is that we have events. Thus all colleagues meet and it’s a family atmosphere.

How was the change from school to work?

It was very exhausting for me in the beginning. Since the trainees start the training in warehouse and logistics in order to get familiar with the products and the processes. But after a few weeks I got used to it and now I’m doing great.

Why did you choose this apprenticeship?

I have always been interested in commercial business since my parents both are also working in this field. In Lohmann I was especially interested because the company deals with products made of different metals and also manufacture in-house. It turned out that this step was the right one for me. I am very happy with the course of my training here.
